How I met Cuban salsa

I discovered Cuban salsa in August 2022. It was my very first dance, and it was love at first sight: first its music, then its freedom, the connection with my partner, and the endless possibilities to embellish your dance and give it your personal touch.

Antoine and Aniurka

Very early in my Cuban salsa journey, I was lucky enough to meet Antoine, who is French, and Aniurka, who is Cuban. They spend half the year in Cuba and have theorised and built a real teaching structure for Cuban salsa: something unique!

They have become friends. Much of what I share here comes from this way of understanding casino: the meaning of the moves, the music, the Cuban culture hidden behind every movement.

The dance of my heart

I’ve tried other dances, but Cuban salsa is very clearly the dance of my heart.

And every dance is unique, because every partner has their own touch, personality, techniques, moves… That’s why you never get to the end of it.

Why Only Dance?

Only Dance comes from a wish to share what I learn: explaining the moves and their meaning, the music, the history and culture behind the dance, and giving practical advice, whether you’re just starting out or already dancing.

The goal is simple: to make you want to go dancing, and to understand what you’re dancing.
