Fuego Dance shoes for women and men
If you’re looking for ballroom or Latin dance shoes (Cuban salsa, Puerto Rican or line salsa, bachata, etc.), which allow you to turn better for greater stability, with just the right grip for changes of direction, for example, then Fuego Shoes dance shoes are already well suited.
… and what if you added style and comfort?
Designed to give you what you’d expect from a pair of dance shoes without compromising on style (many dance shoes are pretty ugly), Fuego Danse Shoes are sure to win you over!
The importance of dance shoe features
Logically, the weight of your shoes matters when you’re walking, running and dancing.
Shoes that are too heavy will eventually tire you out, and you’ll feel less at ease in your movements, turns and so on. The weight of Fuego shoes is close to that of many runningshoes.
Heel height also plays a role, and the shoe’s design can provide more or less grip or slipperiness.
If you’re looking for a little more ankle support, choose a pair of high-top sneakers with a higher upper. High tops and wedges are like little ankle boots.
You can wear any type of sock in Fuego shoes. The brand sells pairs of socks and original laces on its website.
The outsole is solid rubber.
Let’s take a look at the features of all Fuego shoes in a summary table (turn your Smartphone so that all the columns are easy to read):

All shoes are vegan. Some are in fabric, faux leather or nubuck (the Wedges). The Split Sole is the lightest dance shoe in the range.
Insole comfort
Cushioning is very, very important for dancers. The insole in Fuego shoes (low or high) features extra cushioning toabsorb shocks while allowing you to feel the ground as you move.
The insoles are padded in the heel and ball of the foot. This is less the case in the middle, so as not to affect the shoe’s flexibility.
2 pivot points
Fuego Dance shoes feature two pivot points on the underside of the sole to ease and improve rotation. These points are patented under the name FlowTec.
The material density of these pivot points differs from the rest of the sole and is slightly raised for maximum efficiency in rotation, limiting the loss of power from your swing during turns.
And best of all: it’s good for your joints!
Standard size
To find out which size you need, Fuego dance shoes are normally sized. We always choose the same size as for Nike shoes, for example.
However, if you have wide feet, the brand recommends a half size larger.
Here’s the Fuego size guide to help you choose your size:
Advantages of Fuego shoes
Here are the main advantages:
- Style: especially the streetwear style of sneakers. This offers style for both men (rarer) and women.
- Comfort: like classic sneakers, but improved by their lighter weight and specially designed sole.
- Free return for size change in Europe since 17/11/2024 (prepaid label sent).
- Dancing on any surface: within reason, no miracle with any sneaker when the floor is very degraded. This being the case, to make your pair of shoes last as long as possible, we advise you to wear them only for dancing, not in the street, even if the brand does not advise against it.
- Sizing: Fuego Dance sneakers fit like Nike shoes, for example.
- Pivot points: the patented FlowTec design of these shoes features two pivot points to help you perform your turns.
- Lace-up tennis shoes: so you can tighten them to your liking.
- Material: all dance shoes are vegan, i.e. made of synthetic material.

The history of Fuego Dance Shoes
As Kévin, the founder of Fuego Dance, explains, the story began with an offer from the Groupon website.
Kévin had recently moved to the Williamsburg neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York, and wanted to discover a new activity. A Groupon offer suggested dance lessons at a dance school near his home. One dance class was enough to get him hooked.
But he also quickly realized that dancing, spinning, etc. in everyday sneakers made it a little more difficult to perform, and he began to feel tension in his knees, as we explained in our article on the benefits of dance shoes (see the link at the top of this article).
This led to the idea of creating comfortable, stylish and fashionable dance shoes, such as Nike, Adidas, Puma or Reebok sneakers, that could be worn with pleasure to dance on a wide range of surfaces.
In fact, sneaker-style dance shoes didn’t exist at the time, and they didn’t offer much in the way of style either.
He wanted to create dance shoes that were a cross between streetwear and dance.
With a degree in business and entrepreneurship, he launched the startup Fuego!
The Covid pandemic caused dance studios and dance schools (Latin dance schools, etc.) to close temporarily or permanently, but dancers couldn’t stand still. At home, outside, in the garden, on the concrete, everywhere they danced.
Fuego is a brand of dance shoes designed for dancing on all surfaces.
Today, Fuego Dance Shoes is present in over 120 countries. A factory in the Czech Republic (Europe) has cut shipping costs for the joy of Europeans (previously importing from the USA involved higher costs). #FuegoFam.
World-renowned dancers have collaborated on some of the models offered by the fiery brand, such as Ataca, BDash, Jade and others.
